Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said Ishan Kishan was not sent to bat in the Super Over because the latter was “exhausted.” The 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians entered the Super Over after both teams scored 201 runs in their assigned 20 overs. RCB won the Super Over after chasing an eight-run goal at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday. Despite scoring a brilliant 99 on just 58 balls, Ishan Kishan, who was fired in the last over, didn’t come out to bat in the Super Over.
Instead, Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were given the responsibility. After Pollard was fired, Rohit came out to bat when the Mumbai Indians managed to score just seven runs in the Super Over.
“It was a great game. We weren’t in the game when we started with the bat. Big innings from Ishan to recover. Polly was brilliant as ever. We just didn’t start well, I thought we could have 200 with the hitting we have,” Rohit said at the post-game presentation.

“With Polly there, anything can happen, and Ishan can hit it. We thought we could do it. They kept their nerves even though we pressed. (Kishan) was exhausted and not comfortable for the Super Over. He didn’t feel fresh and Hardik is someone. whom we trust in long passes, “he added.
Pollard also played a crucial 60-run hit in just 24 deliveries. The Mumbai Indians will now face Kings XI Punjab on October 1.
