CM Amarinder Singh from Punjab holds a sit-in protest against agricultural laws in Bhagat Singh village


Punjab’s Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh held a sit-in protesting against agricultural laws at Khatkar Kalan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. He also paid tribute to Bhagat Singh on the anniversary of the latter’s birth and said that we were indebted for his “supreme sacrifice.” Khatkar Kalan is the ancestral village of the freedom fighter.

The three agricultural bills: the Agricultural Products Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Act of 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Guarantee and the Agricultural Services Act of 2020 and the Products Act The 2020 Essentials (Amendment) was passed by Parliament and received the consent of President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday.

Captain Amarinder Singh said that the majority of Punjab farmers were marginalized and will be seriously affected by these laws.

“I, along with my colleagues from @INCPunjab, held a protest against the laws against the farmers of the Center in Khatkar Kalan in SBS Nagar. Most of our farmers are small and marginalized and will be seriously affected by these laws. We support the farmers of Punjab and we will do our best to oppose him, ”Singh tweeted.

In Punjab, Haryana and other parts of the country, there have been protests against the three bills in recent weeks. In New Delhi, members of the youth wing of Congress set fire to a tractor on Rajpath on Monday in protest against the law.
