NEW DELHI: Bangalore has become an epicenter of terrorist activitiesBJP Tejasvi Deputy Surya said on Sunday and said he had asked the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah to establish a permanent division of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the city.
A day after becoming chairman of the youth wing of the BJP, Surya said that many terror modules have been destroyed in Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley, in the recent past. the terrorist groups they want to use the city as an “incubation center” for terrorist activities.
Surya said he had met with Shah at the latter’s residence two days ago and emphasized the need for a well-equipped and sufficiently staffed NIA office to mitigate terrorism-related activities in Karnataka.
“The Interior Minister has ensured that he will instruct officials to establish a permanent police station staffed by an officer of the rank of the SP as soon as possible,” Surya said.
“In recent years, Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley, has become the epicenter of terrorist activities. It has been shown through many arrests and sleeper terror cells busted by the investigative agency in the city,” he said Surya, who represents Bengaluru South in Lok Sabhahe told reporters here.
“It is of great concern that NIA investigations into the mob violence of DJ Halli and KG Halli in August have indicated that many terrorist organizations are using Bengaluru as their incubation center to carry out activities against India.” He said.
More than 3,000 people made a riot on August 11, setting fire to the residences of Congress MLA R Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, her sister Jayanthi and DJ Halli and KG Halli halli police stations in Bengaluru.
The violence erupted over an alleged incendiary post on social media by the MLA Congressional nephew.
Surya said there are reports that the NIA does not have enough infrastructure and human resources to conduct investigations. The NIA is currently operating with skeletal personnel and also from Hyderabad with only one camp office in Bengaluru.
As Bengaluru is the financial powerhouse of South India, it is vital to keep the city safe from all terrorist and anti-India organizations and their activity, he added.
On his new responsibility as head of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Surya said that his first visit will be to Bihar, which is at the polls, to interact and meet volunteers from the party’s youth wing.
“Yuva Morcha will foster more grassroots leadership across the country. A young Karyakarta (worker) like myself has been given responsibility for the national youth wing of the world’s largest political party. democracy and in the youngest country in the world. This is only possible at the BJP, ”he said.
