NEET 2020 Result – Answer Keys Posted – Here’s A Quick Look At How Ranks Are Calculated And NTA’s Tiebreaker Policy

The National Testing Agency, NTA has released NEET UG’s 2020 Answer Key on September 26, 2020. The exam was conducted by the Agency on September 13, 2020. The Advanced Answer Keys for candidates for all sets (E1- E6, F1- F6, G1-G6, H1-H6) was published on ntaneet.nic.in. However, the Agency has not published the dates to raise objections against the answer key.

According to him response key prompt, the challenge of the keys will be made later, and for this the corresponding notification will be issued. Therefore, please do not email your answers or clarifications on the Keys, and wait for the process of challenging them.

NEET UG 2020: How NTA Will Calculate Ranks

In preparing the NEET ranking list, the Agency gives preference to the overall scores or the raw score. The NEET UG rank is prepared by considering several other factors, such as the exam difficulty level, the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam, and the students’ exam preparation level. All of these factors affect the NEET-UG range.

A candidate must score at least 670 to 690 points to be on the 2020 NEET-UG 100 Best List. In case one or more candidates have the same raw score, the scores would be compared using the tiebreaker policy that has been imposed by the Agency.

NEET UG 2020: What is the tiebreaker policy?

The National Testing Agency, NTA has four different policies that apply during a tiebreaker situation.

1. According to the tiebreaker policy, the candidates who have obtained the highest marks in the Biology section of the entrance exam will be ranked above the others. In the event that two candidates have obtained the same score in this section, policy number 2 will apply.
2. Candidates who have obtained a higher score in Chemistry will be ranked above the others. Suppose two candidates score the same, then NTA will apply policy 3.
3. In accordance with Policy 3, the candidates with the fewest number of incorrect answers in all subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, will be chosen over the other candidate. If a similar situation occurs where students get the same numbers for wrong answers, Policy 4 will apply.
4. Older candidates will be given first preference over younger ones.
