- MS Dhoni has recently come under fire for lowering the order while pursuing targets.
Glorious finalist MS Dhoni was a force to be reckoned with, but with age and time, the former Indian captain has lost his luster. The Ranchi-born is currently plying his trade at IPL 2020 and surprisingly, he and his team are struggling.
CSK have come down to chase the target in the 3 matches they have played in the 2020 IPL so far. While they won their first match against the Mumbai Indians, they have lost their next 2 matches against Rajsthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

Their eyebrows rose when Dhoni chose to get down in order during the chase against MI, but thankfully they won the match courtesy of a cameo from Sam Curran. However, the next 2 matches caught MS Dhoni off guard. He batted to seventh against RR and hit 3 sixes only after it was too late for CSK. Then against DC on Friday, he couldn’t finish again while batting in sixth position this time.
Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja jas joined the chorus criticizing MS Dhoni for his ability to finish the match and also down the order multiple times.
He has said that no war is won without the ‘General’ coming down to fight himself. The other thing that is making Jadeja a worried and sad person is that the children of this generation will remember only this version of Dhoni and will not realize the greatness of the past.
“I would say the same again. I’m not happy with MS Dhoni’s batting position. No war is won by fighting from behind. There is a saying in the army that says that a war ends when the general leaves.
“In cricket, I think whoever fights from the front has a better chance of winning the battle. If you have soldiers who can win the battle for you and you can only work to strategize for war, that’s a different scenario. But it does not seem the case here.
“Dhoni has retired from the service of the Indian cricket team, but continues to lead CSK. Those kids who have started watching cricket now would remember the Dhoni they are seeing on the screens, as opposed to the great cricketer they were talking about earlier, which is the sad part, “Jadeja told Cricbuzz.
CSK will face SRH on Friday.
