India and Japan have decided to join in the technical development of 5G and 5G plus technologies with the help of other members of the strategic dialogue from QUAD (United States and Australia) and Israel. The development of next-generation telecommunications technologies will be discussed among QUAD’s Foreign Ministers at a meeting in Japan next month.
According to authoritative government sources, while India and Japan have decided to jump in favor of 5G technologies and more, India is also considering 3GPP, the umbrella mobile telecommunications standards organization, and has succeeded in the global standards consortium to accept the first Indian rural standard. for telecommunications. India, together with its partners, will now set more global technology standards. It is understood that most of the 3GPP standards have been set by Chinese telecommunications development companies.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with newly appointed Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and the two decided to take the global and special strategic bilateral partnership to a new level. It is understood that Prime Minister Suga told Prime Minister Modi that Japan wanted to push QUAD with three other partners and contribute to multilateral efforts for a “free and open Indo-Pacific”. Both India and Japan have been on the receiving end of Chinese aggression this year with a clash with the Chinese military in Ladakh and a show of force in the Senkaku Islands.
“India and Japan have agreed to closely cooperate and develop 5G and advanced technologies with the United States and Australia by increasing technology support. We also receive help from Israel. There are discussions within the government and our 5G policy will take a final shape in the coming days. However, Japan will be a close partner, ”said an official involved in the exercise.
