Pooja Bedi raised questions about the recent investigation by the Office of Narcotics Control into a possible drug trade in Bollywood. She said “this level of drug trafficking” must mean that people from other walks of life were also involved, and she questioned whether the focus on the film industry is a diversionary tactic.
“Clearly there are more than Bollywood using drugs in India 2 supporting this level of drug trafficking. So the question is WHY are we not chasing other users that obviously r in MASSIVE numbers? & Is #BollywoodCleanup just a media distraction from NEWS topics that MATTER? ”He tweeted.
Last month, the NCB joined the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput after the Directorate of Enforcement found evidence of a drugs angle in the case while investigating the money laundering angle. Earlier this month, the NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty on drug acquisition charges.
Rhea is currently in Byculla Jail and has been in pretrial detention until October 6. The Bombay High Court postponed her bond hearing until September 29.

While investigating Sushant’s death, the NCB appears to have come across a possible drug trade in Bollywood and has expanded its investigation. The names of various Bollywood celebrities have come up. The OCN has cited Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor. Producer Madhu Mantena recorded his statement earlier this week.
Reports suggest 39 more Bollywood celebrities are under the scanner. However, there is no official news from the OCN about it.
Meanwhile, Shekhar Suman expressed dissatisfaction at Sushant’s death probe’s shift in focus to the drugs angle. In a new tweet, Shekhar said he doesn’t care what happens to ‘drug addicts’, he just wants to know who ‘killed’ Sushant and why.
