‘BMC action mala-fide, Kangana Ranaut had differences with those in power’: lawyer tells Bombay HC

Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer said on Friday that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) move to demolish parts of his bungalow was due to ideological differences, as the Bollywood actor had “differences with the people in power.”

The court was hearing Kangana Ranaut’s petition against BMC for demolishing parts of her bungalow on September 9. The actor had sued the municipal corporation and its officials, claiming Rs 2 crore in compensation for the demolition that she alleges was the result of malice and not an implementation of the civic body’s rules.

“BMC’s action is in bad faith as it had” differences with the people in power and ideological differences. ” The timing of the action clearly shows that there is “malice of fact” and “malice of law” on the part of the authorities, “Ranaut’s attorney, Birendra Saraf, said in superior court on Friday, Live Law reported.

Saraf also told the court that the actor disagrees with the Maharashtra government on some issues. “He has displeased a party in power with his open opinions. He had to face life threats and had to seek special protection, ”the attorney told the court, Live Law reported.
