Angry Fans Criticize Sunil Gavaskar As He Causes Storm With Comment For Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma

Legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar faces the heat on Twitter after making a controversial on-air comment while commenting during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab. The former captain of India faces harsh criticism for his comments about Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma.

The RCB skipper had a bad day on the field as his team suffered a crushing 97-run loss. The batting superstar dropped Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul twice and the latter made his India captain pay a heavy price for the same. Rahul was at 83 and 89 when he was brought down by Virat Kohli and went on to smash an undefeated 132 with just 69 balls.

His impressive hit was peppered with 14 fours and seven sixes. After being brought down by Virat Kohli, Rahul broke 42 runs with just 9 balls. In the 19, he hit Dale Steyn for 26 runs before ending innings by connecting Shivam Dube with four and two sixes on the last three balls. Taking advantage of Rahul’s blow, Kings XI Punjab went on to post a whopping 206-for-3 in the 20 allocated overs.

Virat Kohli’s miseries were compounded by his poor hitting performance. He could handle only 1 before being sent back by Sheldon Cottrell. On the other hand, RCB only had 109 in 17 overs to suffer a major defeat at the start of the competition.

Sunil Gavaskar criticized by a fan:

Shortly after Virat Kohli failed to hit the bat, Sunil Gavaskar made a surprising comment for the India captain. And although he really did not want to disrespect the RCB captain and his wife, it can be said that his comment was perhaps unnecessary and very personal.

Dragging a player’s wife while criticizing him was definitely not the right choice for Sunil Gavaskar. The former cricketer-turned-commentator faced Virat Kohli and said he only trained against Anushka’s balls during the run.

“Inhone I lock myself up so that you can Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai”, Sunil Gavaskar said.

The batting legend could be referring to the viral video that appeared during the lockdown in which Virat Kohli was seen playing cricket with his wife. However, fans were not at all impressed with his choice of words. While some called his comment “double meaning,” some criticized it for being personal.
