Manish Sisodia positive for Covid-19 has dengue, drop in blood platelets: Delhi hospital


Delhi Chief Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia, who is being treated for Covid-19 at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP), suffers from dengue, his office said in a statement Thursday.

“His blood platelets are also dropping,” he also said.

Sisodia was admitted to LNJP state hospital on Wednesday. The hospital also said he was admitted after complaining of a fever and low oxygen levels.

He will now be transferred to Max Hospital, Saket from LNJP Hospital, the office said.

The Chief Deputy Minister is positive for Covid-19. He had been in home isolation since September 14, when he tested positive for the viral disease.

He is the second minister in the cabinet led by Arvind Kejriwal who has tested positive for Covid-19.

In June, Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain was hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19. He was released from the hospital on June 26 after being treated for 12 days.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 infections rose to 2,60,623 after registering 3,834 new Covid-19 cases in one day, according to figures released by the state health department on Thursday. While 36 recent deaths brought the death toll to 5,123.
