Despite the approval of the agricultural reform bills in Parliament, protests in Haryana continue with various organizations preparing to support Bharat Bandh’s call on September 25.
Farmer leaders said that various farmer organizations such as Bharatiya kisan union (BKU), all India Farmers Union (AIFU), all India kisan sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), all India kisan mahasangh (AIKM) have come to a common platform to the national closure. .
Farmer leaders in Haryana are considering blocking rail and road traffic in various districts of the state that day, leaders familiar with the developments said.
Farmers union leaders including BKU (Charuni) and BKU (Tikait) were holding meetings with leaders of different organizations such as Ahritia association (commissioned agents), transporters and traders to support Bharat Bandh by keeping their shops closed from 10 am at 4 pm They stated that all the mandis in the state had decided to remain closed and there will be no business on Friday.
“In Haryana we have asked farmers’ organizations, ahrtias and transporters to support Bharat Bandh against the three agricultural bills passed by the center blocking roads and holding a protest march in all districts of the state” said a BKU (Charuni) leader, who did not want to be named.
On reports that farmers may also block railway lines, he said: “It has not yet been confirmed where we will block roads or railway lines, but the protest will be successful as we have strong support from various farmers’ organizations and associations of state ahrtia “.
BKU (Tikait) State President Ratan Mann said: “We will support Bharat Bandh’s call for the struggle of the country’s farmers. Farmers and ahrtias will be on the roads against the bills on Friday. “

Mann said they are also calling on merchants, unions and employee unions to join the protests to protect the interests of farmers and their next generations.
This will be the third such protest in the state in the past two weeks after the first protest was held in Kurukshetra’s Pipli on September 10.
District administrations have been put on alert and deputy magistrates will be appointed to monitor the situation. “We will ensure that the protests remain peaceful and that the movement of traffic on major roads like NH 44 is not affected,” said Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav.

Farmers’ organizations are demanding amendments to agricultural bills to provide a legal guarantee of minimum support prices (MSP).
The Union government, led by the BJP, has assured farmers that the legislation is in their interest and that the MSP regime is not being dismantled. Members of the ruling BJP were also organizing tractor rallies in their respective areas to tell farmers that the legislations will have no impact on the old mandi and MSP system, but will give them greater freedom to discover the best price for their products.
