Prime Minister Modi’s joke about the loss of Chhole Bhature in Delhi in chat with Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli admitted that she had to accept a lot of changes to be fit and a good diet.

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, interacting with cricket captain Virat Kohli via video link as part of the “Fit India Dialogue” today, questioned him about his fitness regimen and also if he missed that favorite “chhole bhature” from Delhi due to his harsh regimen.

Virat Kohli, currently on tour in Dubai for the IPL tournament, admitted that he had to accept a lot of changes for the sake of fitness and a good diet. He shared that he was so passionate about staying fit that “I don’t mind missing practice, but I feel bad if I miss my fitness session.”

The prime minister joked: “This mantra (fitness) must have meant a great loss to Chhole Bhature of Delhi!”

Virat Kohli smiled in agreement. “Back in our home region, we had simple home-cooked meals and people rarely got sick. But we grew up in the city and often had unhealthy eating habits. For my physical condition, my diet had to change,” said the captain.

“We miss some food, but it’s about priority, what we value the most. We have to be mindful of what we eat. People need to know what they want from their diet and their fitness plan.”

Virat Kohli stressed the need to keep the team’s fitness in sync. “If we don’t, we will be left behind. We cannot rely solely on our abilities. Mental strength has to be supported with physical fitness,” he said.

“The way we used to play changed very quickly. The game was moving fast, and even though we were at the top in skill, I feel we were lacking in terms of fitness. Before, our performance used to decline due to lack of fitness … But that’s what we’ve focused on for a while. We give fitness top priority. As a team, we may still lack fitness compared to others. Fitness should be at the top when it comes to a Test of Five days and we are focused on achieving high-level fitness for the five days, “said the cricket captain.

The prime minister asked Virat Kohli about the yo-yo test. He replied: “It is a physical condition test that is needed for a player to make the cut to be selected on the team. I make sure to be the first to make it, knowing full well that I will not enter the team for a match if I don’t I am successful at it. ” It was important to bring discipline to the system, he said.

“Never feel tired,” said PM Modi curiously.

“Honestly, we do. That is the result of any physical exertion. But the focus is always on how quickly one can recover. With a healthy lifestyle and diet, a good sleep cycle and fitness, our recovery is good, “Virat Kohli replied. .

Concluding the conversation, the Prime Minister congratulated Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma, who are expecting their first child in January.
