Sushant Singh Rajput Death Investigation: Here’s What The Office of Narcotics Control Has Progressed So Far

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the central agency investigating a drug case linked to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, will question Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor.

The NCB, which began its investigation almost a month ago, is the third central agency to investigate a case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The Directorate of Enforcement is investigating the money laundering allegations while the Central Bureau of Investigation investigates the death of the actor. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his home on June 14.

Here’s what NCB has done so far:

* The NCB began its investigation in late August after the Directorate of Enforcement allegedly found some evidence regarding Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s ties to prohibited drugs.

* When it began to investigate, the drug control agency questioned Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik Chakraborty, and manager Samuel Miranda. Both were arrested.

* The agency then interrogated Rhea Chakraborty for three days and arrested her on September 8.

* In the days that followed, NCB made a series of arrests, including Rajput’s domestic aide Dipesh Sawant, suspected drug dealer Abdul Basit Parihar, Goa resident Chris Costa, Showik’s friend Suryadeep Malhotra, and Dwayne Anthony Fernandes (from Dadar), Ankush Arenja (from Powai) among others.

* NCB seized a car belonging to Karamjeet Singh Anand, alias KJ, who is allegedly Bollywood’s main supplier of prohibited drugs, and arrested him.

* Meanwhile, the NCB carried out raids at various locations in the Bandra, Khar, Lokhandwala and Powai area.

* NCB questioned Jaya Saha, former talent manager for Sushant Singh Rajput. He has also cited Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash, who has requested waivers until September 25 for health reasons.

* In regards to its investigation of international drug channels in India, the NCB has sought the assistance of anti-drug agencies in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia to find suppliers of cocaine for Mumbai.

* In the latest development, the agency has quoted actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh. Reports say that Rakul Preet Singh, who is in Hyderabad, has yet to respond to the subpoena.
