Patna: Gupteshwar Pandey, who resigned as Bihar Police Director General (DGP) on Wednesday, said there is no correlation between the Voluntary Retirement Plan (VRS) adopted by him and the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Pandey resigned as DGP after his request for voluntary retirement was approved on Tuesday by the Bihar government, which waived a mandatory three-month reflection period.
“There is no correlation between Sushant Singh Rajput and my VRS. I have assisted a defenseless elderly father who wants justice for his son. According to the Bihar Police FIR, the Supreme Court made the decision to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the court held that the FIR registered in Patna on the death of the actor was legitimate, “Pandey said during a press conference here.
Commenting on his statement in which he had used the word ‘aukat’ for Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, Pandey said: “Aukat means height. I have said that Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, occupies a constitutional position. I said that a person who has been accused of murdering Sushant Singh Rajput should not comment on any person holding constitutional office. “
“I protested and made comments because our officers were mistreated by the Mumbai police. I fought for the pride of Bihar, because the Sushant and CBI justice is investigating the case,” he added.
Rajput was found dead on June 14 at his Mumbai residence.
The Mumbai police had declared it a case of death by suicide. However, Rajput’s father, KK Singh, registered an FIR in Patna in the sections related to complicity in suicide and then demanded an investigation from the CBI.
On August 19, the Supreme Court ordered the IWC to investigate the case while holding that the FIR registered in Patna on the actor’s death was legitimate.
The agency filed a First Information Report (FIR) against actor Rhea Chakraborty and others in connection with the Rajput’s death after the Center accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation to transfer the investigation into the matter from Patna. CBI is currently investigating the actor’s death case.
The Execution Directorate had registered on July 31 an Execution Case Information Report in the case of the deceased actor’s death after Rajput’s father filed an FIR against Chakraborty in Bihar on July 28.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is investigating the drug case related to the Rajput’s death, arrested several people in the case, including Chakraborty, his brother Showik, Abdul Basit Parihar, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda. .
The NCB had launched an investigation after receiving an official communication from the Directorate of Enforcement, in which there were several conversations related to the consumption, acquisition, use and transportation of drugs in connection with the Rajput case.
