The next Toyota Urban Cruiser will come in 3 key variants: Mid, High and Premium
Toyota Urban Cruiser Subcompact SUV is ready to go on sale in India today, and here we will bring you all the live updates from the launch event. It will be the Japanese automaker’s smallest SUV in India, and also its first SUV under 4 meters on the market. Of course, it is essentially a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza renamed with some minor cosmetic updates and new brand badges. The new Toyota Urban Cruiser will come in three variants: Mid, High, and Premium, and all three versions will come with an automatic transmission option. Under the hood, of course, is the same BS6-compliant 1.5-liter K Series petrol engine that’s tuned to deliver 103PS and 138Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 4-speed automatic torque converter.

In terms of features, the new Urban Cruiser has a new two-slat wedge-cut grille with chrome accents, dual-chamber LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights. The SUV also features 16-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels and a high-mount LED brake light. The cockpit, on the other hand, has a 7-inch Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay and smartphone-based navigation.
