Vodafone Idea Seeks High ARPU Users Through Phone Associations;  strong bet on IoTNEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea, now rebranded Vi, said it plans to increase the share of high-ARPU subscribers on its network through a “focused 4G device agenda” to be enabled through partnerships with phone manufacturers (OEM) and financiers . institutions and NBFC.

The telco said strong macro growth drivers such as growth in data consumption and smartphone adoption will help it drive average revenue per user (ARPU).

In its investor presentations, the telco said its investments are focused in 16 circles to improve competitiveness in priority markets as it expands 4G coverage and the ability to improve the customer experience. It is said to be implementing a variety of 5G concepts and technologies such as Cloudification of Core, DSR, Massive MIMO, and OpenRAN, among others.

Vodafone Idea, in its presentation, said that 4G coverage in priority circles is expected to increase from ~ 83% in March 2020 to ~ 90% + in March 2022. It added that reprogramming from 900 MHz to 4G will offer better consumer experience.

The telecommunications company will also regroup the 2100 MHz band for 4G with a gradual shutdown of 3G.

Vodafone Idea said its goal is to achieve an annualized cost savings of Rs 40 billion on
next 18 months.

The telecommunications company is also focused on its entrepreneurial business and plans to grow new segments. It wants to create a platform and marketplace in the cloud, through its own assets and strategic partnerships.

Cloud service delivery is a key focus and strategic area for the telco and has signed strategic alliances with Colocation, IaaS providers and SaaS providers. You are co-creating differentiated offerings with partners from Google, Microsoft, AWS, and CtrlS.

Vodafone Idea said it is well positioned to capitalize on future growth in the enterprise IoT space. “VIL is well positioned as a pioneer in the automotive IoT opportunity, leveraging Vodafone Group’s expertise in IoT,” he said, adding that it has captured 90% of the customer market share in the automotive industry with more than 2.2 million. of vehicles in connectivity being the only e-SIM UICC Provider in India.

The telecommunications company expects to maintain its 54% market share in the telecom IoT connectivity space, which is expected to grow tenfold. It also expects to get a 10-12% market share in the IoT space without connectivity.
