Mumbai:

Actress Rhea Chakraborty will be in jail until October 6, a Mumbai court said today when her judicial custody ended. She and her brother Showik Chakraborty have applied for bail to the Bombay High Court, which will take over tomorrow.

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 9 on drug charges related to the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The 28-year-old actor, who dated Sushant Singh Rajput in the months leading up to her death on June 14, has been charged with organizing drugs for him.

The Office of Narcotics Control described Rhea Chakraborty as “an active member of a drug union.”

Based on his three-day questioning earlier this month, the anti-drug agency has expanded its investigations to Bollywood drug links.

Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, whose names allegedly emerged during the questioning of Rhea Chakraborty, may be summoned by the agency later this week, according to sources.

The agency today questioned Bollywood manager A-lister Deepika Padukone, Karishma Prakash, and talent agency executive Jaya Saha, who was questioned for a second day. Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Shruti Modi has also been questioned.

Sources say the Office of Narcotics Control is trying to build a case against the 10 people it arrested on drug charges related to the Sushant Rajput case.

In addition to Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, these 10 arrested include two Sushant Singh Rajput employees and suspected drug traffickers who have been linked to Bollywood.

Sushant Singh Rajput, a 34-year-old Bollywood star, was found dead in his Mumbai home on June 14. What started as a suicide investigation turned into a broader investigation by the CBI after the actor’s family accused Rhea Chakraborty of exploiting him for money. medicate her and play a role in her death.

The drug investigation began after WhatsApp chats on Rhea Chakraborty’s phone revealed conversations about buying drugs for the actor.

After multiple searches, the anti-drug agency based his case on 59 grams of weed found in drug dealers allegedly known to Sushant Rajput. According to the agency, their questioning led them to Rhea Chakraborty and his brother.

A Mumbai court rejected his request for bail, saying he could “alert the people he has named” and that the evidence could be altered. The court also dismissed Rhea Chakraborty’s argument that she was compelled to make her statement.
