The Rajasthan Royals will be seen in action for the first time in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) when they face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Sharjah.
MS Dhoni’s men got off to an excellent start to the 2020 IPL by defeating the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians, in the season opener in Abu Dhabi. Sam Curran, Piyush Chawla, Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis all shone for CSK as they recorded a 5 wicket victory in the final.
With the victory, they established themselves as a team not to be taken lightly despite the withdrawals of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh.
RR, on the other hand, enters IPL 2020 as the losers, and this is a position they have found themselves in multiple times before. Steve Smith’s side will not feature Ben Stokes (who is expected to miss a significant portion of the tournament for personal reasons) and Jos Buttler (who has received an extended quarantine period).
In the absence of its two biggest stars abroad, RR will have to play in their skins if they want to surprise the three-time IPL champions.
We take a look at 3 players who could be the captain or vice-captain of your Dream11 team for the RR vs CSK IPL 2020 game.
Honorable mention: Ravindra Jadeja – The off-roader moved up the order in the previous game and could attack RR spinners, but is not expected to get much spin from the surface when bowling.
