Parliamentarians ran to the well and arrived at the president’s seat to protest against the agricultural bills
The Upper House of Parliament witnessed rebellious scenes on Sunday when opposition MPs came to the vice president’s seat to protest against agricultural bills being debated and passed in the House. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other high-ranking government ministers criticized the behavior and expressed distress at the incident.
Meanwhile, the uproar comes against the backdrop of ongoing fury against farm bills, which the Congress and Opposition parties have called “anti-farmers.” Earlier today, former finance minister P Chidambaram criticized the government for the farm laws and questioned how it planned to guarantee a minimum support price (MSP) for farmers.
