New Delhi: The ongoing investigation into the drug angle linked to the investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has highlighted an alleged link to drugs in the film industry.
Times now now accessed incriminating WhatsApp chats of Bollywood’s top five A-listers with the initials D, K, N, J, S that could help the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) uncover the alleged drug cartel operating in the film industry.
In one of the WhatsApp messages, two Bollywood celebrities with the initials N and J talk about acquiring hashish and the banned drug MDMA.
According to the chats, N tells J: “You promised to bring me a good doctor (apparently referring to MDMA) in Bombay and we will party together.”
To which J responds: “How are you turning me into a street vendor. However, your wish is my command. “
In another WhatsApp exchange, J says, “Hi, I’m shipping the CBD oil with Jinal today.” Responding to J, S says: “Thank you.”
The Bollywood A-listers whose names appeared in these chats are under NCB’s scanner and are likely to be summoned by the anti-drug agency in the near future.
The ones with the initials N and S are supposedly the main actresses.
In another chat dating back to 2017, D asks K: “… Maal, you have.” To which, says K, “I have but at home. I’m in Bandra … “
K further says, “I can ask Amit if you want.” D responds: “Yes !! Please.”
“Amit has it, takes it,” says K, to which D responds, “hash na. No marijuana. “
According to sources within NCB, the person with the initial D is Deepika Padukone. The actress will be cited by the anti-drug agency this week.
NCB investigates Bollywood drug nexus
The NCB, one of three central agencies investigating various angles in the Rajput death case, took over the drug investigation after receiving details about Rhea’s involvement in the drug nexus.
The investigating agency has so far arrested 18 people, including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Rajput manager Samuel Miranda, and domestic helper Dipesh Sawant.
Rhea, who is currently housed in Mumbai Byculla Prison, is charged with acquiring drugs for Rajputs. She was arrested on September 9.
The NCB has said that the 28-year-old was an “active member” of a drug syndicate and purchased drugs for Rajputs.
