Ravichandran Ashwin, a veteran from India, got off to a pretty dramatic start to his career at Delhi Capitals. In DC’s opening game of the current Indian Premier League season against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, Ashwin entered the attack in the fifth and collected two wickets. The bowler fired Karun Nair and the dangerous Nicholas Pooran in quick succession.
But after throwing the last ball of the over, Ashwin dived to save a run and injured his shoulders. Ruined by grief, Ashwin walked off the field with his shoulders supported by team physio Patrick Farhart.

“I spoke briefly with Ashwin, and Ashwin said he will be ready for the next game. But at the end of the day it’s up to the physio, ”Iyer said after Delhi Capitals beat Kings XI Punjab in Super Over in their first IPL 13 match here on Sunday night.
“He’s a strong-minded guy and I hope he’s available,” Iyer had added.
