Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested by the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) on September 8, was placed in pretrial detention for 14 days until September 22 for her alleged involvement in a drug case linked to the death of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
NCB has charged for purchasing drugs for Rajputs. She was arrested on the basis of statements by other defendants detained in the case.
As the judicial custody of Chakraborty ends Tuesday, here is everything we know so far.
* Former Sushant Talent Manager Jaya Saha questioned by NCB
The NCB questioned former Rajput talent manager Jaya Saha for about four hours at the Bombay Port Trust (BPT) guesthouse in South Mumbai on Monday. She arrived at the guesthouse around 2 p.m. and left at 6:15 p.m., said NCB deputy director KPS Malhotra.

The agency has cited Saha and former Rajput manager Shruti Modi for joining the drug investigation on Tuesday. They were previously summoned on September 16, but were dispatched after a member of the investigation team tested positive for Covid-19.

After Chakraborty, who is currently housed in Byculla Jail in Mumbai, named them in his statement, NCB will question actors Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and designer Simone Khambatta sometime this week about the alleged Link to drugs in Rajput death in June. 14.

Their requests for bail were rejected by a special court in Mumbai along with Chakraborty and his brother Showik. However, Rhea and her brother have yet to file a bail statement in superior court.

A special court that denied Chakraborty bail in connection with the NCB’s investigation into the drug-related angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case held that if she was released on bail she could alert others and destroy tests.
Rhea, in her guilty plea, had stated that she was innocent and was falsely implicated. The brothers have been registered under section 27A of the NDPS Act, which establishes a penalty for financing illicit trafficking and sheltering offenders.
