The Kolkata Police Cyber Cell launched an investigation against a dating app for using the photo of Trinamool Congresswoman Nusrat Jahan without her consent to promote the app. Jahan was alerted by one of the Twitter users and later alerted the Kolkata police about the app. She pointed out that her photo was being used without her consent.
This is totally unacceptable: use images without consent. I would request the Cyber Cell of @KolkataPolice to kindly look into it. I am ready to tackle this legally. ??@CPKolkata https://t.co/KBgXLwSjR4

“It is totally unacceptable to use images without consent. She would request the Kolkata Police Cyber Cell to investigate the same. I am ready to tackle this legally, ”tweeted Nusrat Jahan, who is also an actor.
His photo was next to the application with the caption “Make friends in the confinement by staying at home.” Kolkata police officers said action would be taken under the purview of the Information Technology Law. The application claims to have one million users. Also, it claims to make an instant connection of its users with random people and make friends all over the world.
