Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan may be questioned this week in the expanding drug investigation linked to investigations into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, sources say. Their names reportedly emerged during the questioning of actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested on 9 September on charges of organizing drugs for her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.
Sources say the Office of Narcotics Control may summon these actors later this week as it tries to build a case against the 10 people it has arrested on drug charges related to the Sushant Rajput case. In addition to Rhea Chakraborty, the others arrested earlier this month were her brother Showik Chakraborty, two Sushant Singh Rajput employees and suspected Bollywood-linked drug traffickers.
Rhea Chakraborty was interrogated for three days before her arrest on charges of arranging drugs for Sushant Rajput and had reportedly named some stars in connection with drug use.
Sushant Singh Rajput, a 34-year-old Bollywood star, was found dead in his Mumbai home on June 14. What began as a suicide investigation turned into a broader investigation by CBI after the actor’s family accused his latest girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, of exploiting him. for money, medicate him and play a role in his death.
The drug investigation began after WhatsApp chats on Rhea Chakraborty’s phone revealed conversations about buying drugs for the actor.
After multiple searches, the anti-drug agency based his case on 59 grams of weed found in drug dealers allegedly known to Sushant Rajput. According to the agency, their questioning led them to Rhea Chakraborty and his brother.
Rhea Chakraborty, a 28-year-old former Veejay, model and actress, was described as “an active member of a drug syndicate” by the Office of Narcotics Control in documents filed with the court after her arrest.
A Mumbai court rejected his request for bail, saying he could “alert the people he has named” and that the evidence could be altered. The court also dismissed Rhea Chakraborty’s argument that she was compelled to make her statement.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Shruti Modi and his former talent agent Jaya Saha have been summoned today for questioning.
