CHANDIGARH: Following the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of the Interior (MHA), Punjab Government Sunday allowed students in classes IX through XII to visit their schools in areas outside of the containment zones on a voluntary basis to receive guidance from their teachers.
However, this permission would be subject to the written consent of their parents / guardians as of September 21 as per Standard of Operating Procedures (POE) issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Union.
According to an official spokesperson, the state’s home department issued detailed instructions to allow skills training or entrepreneurship in national skill training institutes, industrial training institutes (ITI), short-term training centers registered with the national corporation of skill development or state skill development missions or other Indian government ministries or state governments.
Likewise, the activities of National Institute of Entrepreneurship and small business developments (NIESBUD), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and its training providers have also been authorized as of September 21, subject to strict compliance with the established standards.
MHA orders issued on August 29, 2020 and subsequent guidelines issued by the state government on September 9, 2020 that impose additional restrictions on urban areas, including a Sunday curfew, would remain in effect, the spokesperson added. .
