The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced a Graduate Scholarship for 2020-21. ME, MTech, MPharm, MArch candidates from AICTE approved institutions with a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) score can apply for the scholarship on the scholarship portal of the AICTE website , aicte-india. org.

GATE candidates admitted to the Engineering and Architecture program and GPAT candidates admitted to the pharmacy program are eligible for the GATE / GPAT scholarship, AICTE said.

The last date for institutions to complete the data verification process is December 31. Candidates admitted to part-time courses are not eligible for the scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded for a maximum period of 24 months or until the completion of the courses / thesis presentation date, whichever comes first, AICTE said.

Students must have a general savings account with the same name. Small or simple accounts, joint accounts will not be accepted, said an official statement.

Candidates who qualified in the OBC (Creamy Layer) category are not eligible for the GATE scholarship. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates will need to submit certificates that are not older than one year to process their applications, AICTE said.

“The documents that support the certificate of SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / Physically disabled must be attested by the director of the institute or the official official. The SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / Physically disabled certificate must be in Hindi / English; otherwise it must be translated and verified in Hindi / English by a notary or by the principal on the institute’s letterhead. The student must upload both the original and the translated certificate. “Said an official statement.
