Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to hold a meeting with the top ministers of seven states next week to review the Covid-19 situation in the country.
“The meeting is likely to be held on September 23,” sources told the PTI news agency.

Top ministers from Maharashtra, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, among others, are expected to attend the meeting, they said.
This meeting comes in the context of Covid-19 cases that surpassed the 5.3 million mark in India on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health panel. Up to 85,619 people have died from the infection in the country.
Prime Minister Modi has regularly held these meetings to review the situation of the pandemic throughout the country, with special attention to the states and UT where the infection is most widespread.

The last such meeting was held on August 11 and was attended by key ministers and representatives of the 10 most affected states: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Bihar, Gujarat, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
