Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli recreated the legendary capture of ‘Superman’ from his teammate AB de Villiers, during a training session, as can be seen in a post shared by the official Twitter user of the franchise. Kohli can be seen leaping into the air and completing the catch with his right hand, just as the South African cricketer did in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). “Captain Kohli casually re-enacted AB’s capture of ‘Superman’ in training last night. #PlayBold # IPL2020 #WeAreChallengers # Dream11IPL,” read the caption of RCB’s tweet.

De Villiers was fielding near the boundary ropes in the middle of the wicket, during a clash against SunRisers Hyderabad in the 2018 edition at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, when English cricketer Alex Hales hit the ball hard.

The ball seemed quite capable of clearing the boundary without much noise, which is when the South African player made his presence felt.

The 36-year-old leapt into the air, managing to complete a one-handed catch even though his right foot was quite close to the boundary line.

The two players share a great relationship both on and off the field and will seek to deliver quality performances for RCB at the next IPL edition.

Promoted

The 2020 season of the tournament, to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will see defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening match.

The RCB has not yet lifted the trophy in the 12 editions of the League, despite reaching the final 3 times.
