Parliament’s current monsoon session is likely to be shortened as various parties reached consensus on Saturday on the conclusion of the session next Wednesday. However, the government intends to approve the rest of the legislation scheduled for this session. “There is a consensus on the reduction of the session of Parliament. We leave it to the discretion of the Speaker while we adjust the affairs of the chamber, ”said a participant in the meeting of Parliament’s Business Advisory Committee. The Speaker will announce the last business day of the House.
The session began on September 14 and was supposed to end on October 1.
So far, around 30 MPs, including Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Prahlad Patel, have tested positive for Covid-19 after the Monsoon Session began amid strict protocols.

Repeat RT-PCR tests were introduced for MPs, mandatory tests for government officials visiting parliament, and daily antigen tests for journalists and parliament officials, as none of the three MPs were found to have tested positive when they got tested earlier, over the weekend.
