NEW DELHI: A moderate lightning storm is very likely to hit isolated locations across the country for the next 12 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said Saturday afternoon. Lightning thunderstorms are expected to occur in Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, among other places.

“Moderate thunderstorms with lightning are very likely in isolated locations over Odisha, the Ganges of West Bengal, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Marathawada, inland northern Karnataka, Telangana, Rayalaseema and the coast of Andhra Pradesh. and Yanam for the next 12 hours, “IMD said.

Meanwhile, fairly widespread to widespread rains are likely to occur with isolated heavy to very heavy rains over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 19-20 September.
