The case was registered against 11 unidentified individuals and four defendants named Friday based on a complaint filed by Shamli district BJP chair Satendra Tomar, they said.
Prince Kori, National President of Bharatiya Samaj Rakshak Yuva Morcha, and the other 14 were registered under sections 147 (riots) and 188 of the Indian Penal Code (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public official), police said .
The defendants burned the effigy on September 17, Prime Minister Modi’s birthday, which they observed as “Unemployment Day” to protest unemployment, they said.
A video of the incident, which took place in the village of Dargahpur, below the boundaries of the Jhinjhana police station, has also gone viral on social media.
