Karnataka schools and colleges will reopen from September 21, according to the Unlock 4.0 guidelines. The state education department has decided not to hold regular classes. However, students in classes 9 to 12 may visit their respective schools to clarify their doubts and to receive guidance and help from their teachers.

This decision was made at the meeting attended by the Minister of Education, S Suresh Kumar, with the Karnataka Department of Education. Kumar, speaking to reporters, said: “Starting on September 21, the teachers of Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 will be present at the school to clear up the doubts of the students related to their studies. . It won’t be like regular classes. “

He further added that regular classes would not be resumed under any circumstances and that the state government is waiting for the green signal from the center to resume regular classes in the state.

While talking about the challenges facing the department this year, Kumar said that each year 10 lakh students used to enroll in June, which did not happen this year. Therefore, a goal has been set to complete the registration procedure by the end of September, PTI reported.

According to him SOPs issued by the central government, schools should follow generic preventive measures such as physical distancing, the mandatory use of covers / face masks, frequent hand washing and self-health monitoring, and the notification of any illness to the authority. Classes in open spaces on school campuses will be encouraged if weather permits.

Mandatory hand hygiene (disinfectant dispenser) and thermal protection provisions to be carried out at the entrance. A strict regulation of visitors to the school must be maintained and followed, per SOPs.

Meanwhile, the state government has decided Reopen Karnataka Universities from October 1, 2020. However, the academic year began on September 1 through online classes. Senior Deputy Minister and Minister of Higher Education CN Ashwath Narayan said in August that the state government was awaiting central guidelines regarding the resumption of offline classes.
