IPL 2020: RCB Releases Kannada Version Of New Anthem After Fan Uproar

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday unveiled its new anthem for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, but faced backlash from a section of fans over the Hindi and English-dominated lyrics. A few, including former India pacemaker Dodda Ganesh, noted the lack of Kannada lines in the main theme of the Bengaluru-based franchise.

However, RCB did not disappoint their fans! Hours after the initial version of the fan anthem was released, the former finalists came up with a new one, this time with more Kannada lyrics. It turned out they had hired young Karnataka opener Devdutt Padikkal to do the rap part in Kannada on the title track.

The theme song begins with a shot of the golden helmet and fans cheering for ‘RCB’ before Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers get going. The rap part in Kannada, which is being well received by RCB fans, is highlighted in the latest version.

The excitement around IPL 2020 is peaking with the long-awaited starts to the tournament on September 19 in Abu Dhabi with former champions Chennai Super Kings facing off against champions Mumbai Indians. IPL missed the April-May window due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, but the tournament was rescheduled for September-November after the T20 World Cup was postponed.

Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Virat Kohli will open their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai on September 21.

Earlier on Thursday, RCB captain Virat Kohli said the former finalists will play to put smiles on their fans’ faces and that there will be no drop in intensity despite playing in front of empty stands in the United Arab Emirates.

Virat Kohli said There is a relaxed atmosphere in the camp despite the restrictions due to the bio-bubble in the wake of the pandemic. Kohli said RCB has understood the importance of acceptance and does not think about what they cannot do at this time due to restrictions.

“It’s very easy to think about things that we can’t do right now. But we’ve accepted that this is the situation we’re in, this is what we can do and the things we can’t. All of us have become very relaxed in that moment. ambient.

“If we were not acceptable, then we would be sad or upset about the surroundings or we would be in a bad mood. I have not seen anything like that on the team. We all have a smile on our face. And there is no despair.” Of any type. Personally, for me, that has been the biggest learning for me in the pandemic so far, “Kohli said.
