Explosion in Mumbai: Part of the building collapses after explosion inside Worli laboratory, one injured | Mumbai News


MUMBAI: A woman suffered minor injuries after a liquid nitrogen gas tank explosion inside a pathology lab on the top floor of the Manish Commercial Estate building, near the old passport office in Worli, on Friday. A part of the upper floor of the building also collapsed due to the impact.
The explosion damaged the false ceiling, the booths, the parapet of the floor where the laboratory was located. The BMC issued a notice asking the occupant to remove the loose part of the parapet to prevent further incidents.
The fire engines rushed to the scene and controlled the situation. Officials searched the facility and said that no one was trapped in the building. The BMC did not allow anyone on the premises of the building for security reasons.

The BMC official stated that due to the morning hours there was no one in the office when the incident took place around 9 a.m.
The woman working in the pathology lab is said to have been in the office when the incident occurred. She suffered minor injuries in the incident, but refused hospitalization.
