Apple Store Online India will launch on September 23rd. Message from Tim Cook

Apple Store Online will launch in India on September 23, the company confirmed today. The online store will offer the full range of products available from Apple and will also offer customer support directly for the first time. Although Apple products have been sold through e-commerce stores such as Amazon or Flipkart, Bloomberg reported last month that Apple was working to have its own online store before Diwali. With the September 23 launch, it hit the deadline, although according to the Bloomberg report, Apple had planned to launch online much earlier, but its plans were interrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.

Customers will not only be able to purchase all Apple products from the online store, but they will also have access to Apple specialists who can guide users in their purchases and provide assistance. Customers will be able to receive guidance directly from Apple, including online support in English and telephone support in Hindi and English.

We are proud to expand into India and want to do everything we can to support our customers and their communities, ”said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People in a prepared statement. “We know that our users rely on technology to stay connected, engage in learning and harness their creativity, and by bringing the Apple Store online to India, we are bringing the best of Apple to our customers at this important time.”

The online store will also offer shoppers the ability to custom configure any Mac before buying, and will offer student accessory discounts, as well as special pricing for Macs and iPads, as well as offering financing options and a program of exchange.

You can also buy Apple Care + online. This extends your warranty with up to 2 years of technical support and accidental damage coverage.

According to Apple, all orders will be shipped with contactless delivery by BlueDart within 24 to 72 hours after the order is placed. Apple also plans to offer sessions focused on photography and music, as well as add-ons like gift wrapping and personalized engravings, which will likely make giving on Diwali more attractive.

According to the Bloomberg report, the opening of the online store in India is only the first step for Apple, which will also open physical stores starting next year in Mumbai, before opening a second store in Bengaluru.
