Delhi riots: Delhi police charge sheet heard by court, Natasha Narwal gets bail


The Karkardooma Court on Thursday became aware of the indictment sheet produced by the Delhi Police accusing 15 people, including former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain, of inciting violence in northeast Delhi in February this year.

Of the 21 people arrested so far, the police charged 15 defendants, based on scientific, documentary and testimonial evidence gathered during the investigation. The remaining 6 people are expected to be prosecuted in due course after gathering sufficient evidence and completing the legal and procedural requirements, police said in a statement Wednesday. All 15 have been charged under sections of the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act, the IPC and the Weapons Act.

The 17,000 page charge sheet named Natasha Narwal, Devangana Kalita, Asif Iqbal Tanha, Ishrat Jahan, Meeran Haider, Safoora Zargar and Khalif Saifi.

Meanwhile, Natasha Narwal, a member of Pinjra Tod, who was arrested for protesting against the Jaffrabad metro station, obtained bail.
