Rakul Preet Singh moves HC claiming ‘media trial’, court broadcast notice – bollywood

The Delhi High Court issued notices to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prasar Bharati, the Association of News Broadcasters (NBA) and the Press Council of India (PCI) on Thursday after actor Rakul Preet Singh moved to the court alleging ‘media trial’ in Sushant Singh Rajput drug investigation. It was previously reported that Rakul Preet Singh was named by Rhea Chakraborty during a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation into a drug angle related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

The HC issued a notice in Rakul’s petition against “unsubstantiated” media reports against her in connection with the drug case. Rakul, for his part, argued that the media reports are being run in contravention of the I&B Ministry’s guidelines. The instructions came Thursday during a hearing on Rakul’s guilty plea in the matter, legal websites reported.

“The media and television channels are expected to show restraint and abide by the Program Code and other guidelines when making any report in relation to Rakul,” the High Court said, adding: “Even if action is taken against a channel, it will send a message to the others. ”

In her presentation to the HC Delhi, Rakul also said that she learned that she had been named in the case only through television channels. Bar and Bench said. Rhea was arrested in a drug case in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case which is currently being investigated by NCB, ED and CBI.
