Apple Event: New iPad, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE Specs Leaked Hours Before Launch

Today’s Apple event will see the launch of new products and the Cupertino, California-based giant is expected to launch new iPad and Apple Watch models. Hours before the big event, a leak offers key specs for some of the rumored products Apple is expected to announce. This includes the 4th generation iPad Air or iPad Air 4, the 8th generation iPad, the Apple Watch Series 6, and the Apple Watch SE. The leak suggests information about the processor and charging port on both rumored iPad models.

Prolific forecaster Evan Blass led Twitter to share leaked information about upcoming iPad and Apple Watch products. Blass tweeted that the fourth-generation iPad Air, also known as the iPad Air 4, was powered by the new A14 processor and can switch to the USB Type-C port just like the iPad Pro range. It may have a similar design to the one. iPad Pro range, and the new model may also stop using Touch ID. On the other hand, Apple is rumored to launch the 8th generation iPad which can be powered by the old A12X processor and still be compatible with the Lightning port.

Blass claims that Apple could also introduce the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE models during the event. The Apple Watch Series 6 will be the successor to the Apple Watch Series 5 that was launched last year, while the Apple Watch SE will be an affordable offering, a first in Apple’s range of wearable devices. The Apple Watch Series 6 leans to have the S4 processor. This is quite strange given that the Apple Watch Series 5 came with the S5 processor. Regardless, the insider says that the Apple Watch Series 6 can come in two dial sizes and include Bluetooth and LTE connectivity.

The affordable Apple Watch SE is also expected to come in two dial sizes and offer Bluetooth and LTE connectivity. Both smartwatches are rumored to come in 40mm and 44mm dial sizes. The Apple Watch SE likely lacks some of the main features, such as ECG functionality or even the always-on display.

Apple’s event will start at 10 a.m. M. PDT (10:30 PM IST) and will be streamed live via YouTube and a page dedicated to Apple Events.
