New Delhi:

The cause of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14 will be revealed by a panel of doctors from Delhi’s AIIMS hospital to the CBI next week. The panel is studying the actor’s autopsy report amid allegations from his family and questions raised by fans on social media.

Sources say the AIIMS panel will meet on Sunday and present its findings to CBI officials early next week.

“We assure you that the opinion we give will be strong, without confusion or doubts, in the interests of truth and the law,” panel sources told NDTV.

The sources said the group of doctors has not focused on any opinions or findings so far; Viscera reports are expected on Friday.

After the 34-year-old Bollywood star was found dead at her home in Mumbai, city police said it was a suicide and investigated possible reasons ranging from depression to film industry disputes and toxic competition.

Police also cited the post-mortem report claiming that asphyxia due to hanging was the cause of death. There was “no foul play or marks of external injuries,” the report said, according to Mumbai police.

A month after the investigation, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed a case in Bihar alleging that his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, also an actress, and her family cheated on the actor, medicated him and played a role in his death.

The CBI was asked to investigate the death; the Supreme Court ruled that the agency would take over the entire investigation.

The autopsy report, it is widely anticipated, will deliver a vital clue to the actor’s death, which left his fans in shock and led to social media campaigns for justice.

Recently, the investigation took a drug-related turn and the Bureau of Narcotics Control arrested Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and two Sushant Singh Rajput staff members on charges of organizing drugs such as marijuana for the actor.
