Apple event announcements expected

While Apple has continued the trend of keeping mum on what’s to come at today’s event, rumors have suggested what we can expect from Apple’s event.

Apple Watch Series 6

One of the key announcements at today’s Apple event would be the Apple Watch Series 6. The team led by Tim Cook’s next-generation smartwatch is rumored to have a built-in blood oxygen meter to measure oxygen levels, plus of offering pulse tracking and heart rate monitoring. You can also expect a faster processor to offer improved performance. Additionally, the new Apple Watch will likely retain the 40mm and 44mm sizes that debuted with the Series 4 in 2018. It would also feature an always-on display that was first seen on the Series 5 on the line last year.

Apple Watch SE

Along with the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple is rumored to have plans for the affordable model that it could call the Apple Watch SE. This new model is likely to hamper competition for companies like Fitbit, Huawei and Samsung, which have provided a range of smartwatches to counter the Apple Watch lineup. You can expect 40mm and 44mm variants on the SE series, along with support for GPS. The Apple Watch SE is also designed to have cellular variants, although you wouldn’t get an always-on display and ECG functionality.

iPad Air 4 aka iPad Air (2020)

The third announcement that would take place at today’s Apple event would be related to the new iPad Air which is likely to be the successor to the iPad Air 3 that debuted in March last year. The new model could feature a design similar to the iPad Pro family and offer a larger screen-to-body ratio. You can also expect the omission of the traditional Touch ID-equipped home button. Furthermore, the iPad Air 4 that officially arrives as the iPad Air (2020) is likely to lack some of the main features of the iPad Pro, despite having a similar appearance.

Apple one

New products aside, Apple is likely to spill the beans on its unified subscription offering that would be called Apple One. The new offering may start with a base tier that would offer Apple Music and Apple TV +, while its more expensive version would provide additional access to Apple Arcade. It would also add Apple News + to the industry at the next level. Additionally, Apple may offer improved iCloud storage

Companies like Google and Microsoft have offered service packages for their subscription-based services in the past. However, Apple can leverage its strong presence in the hardware world to scale its unified subscription offering.
