Postponed UGC NET exam, to be held September 24 onwards

NEW DELHI: The Education Ministry’s testing agency postponed the National Eligibility Test (NET) on Monday because the dates clashed with the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) exam.

The NET was scheduled to take place September 16-25. Now it will take place from September 24 onwards.

“The National Testing Agency will conduct the ICAR exams on September 16, 17, 22 and 23. In light of that, the 2020 UGC-NET exam will be held from September 24 onwards,” he said. Sadhana Parashar, Senior Director of NTA.

“This is due to some common candidates in both exams and the requests received from them. The exact schedule of details by subject and by shift will be uploaded later,” he added.

The June 2020 exam, along with several other exams, had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown. The new schedule for various exams was released by the NTA in the last week of August.
