PSG vs Marseille: Neymar responds to Álvaro González saying he was not racist

Well, Paris Saint-Germain vs Marseille had some talking points, didn’t it?

Marseille ran out of winners 1-0 at the Parc des Princes, but the score pales to insignificance after the scenes we witnessed during the match.

In injury time, there was a melee in which FIVE players were shown red cards.

One of those red cards went to Neymar, who punched Álvaro González from Marsella on the back of the head.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Neymar and Álvaro collided with the Brazilian accusing the defender of racism.

A video shows Neymar saying ‘no racism’ after an incident between Angel di Maria and Alvaro. Di María was accused of spitting on the Marseille player for alleged racism.

Then, when it all started with the final whistle, Neymar took his opportunity to land a soft punch on the back of Álvaro’s neck.

Following a VAR review, Neymar was fired and the PSG star took to Twitter immediately after the match.

He tweeted: “My only regret is not hitting that ass in the face.”

He soon followed up with a more detailed version of events.

“VAR detecting my ‘attack’ is easy, now I want to see him take the image of the racist calling me” MONO SON OF A BITCH “(monkey son of a bitch). That’s what I want to see. And then? I make a rainbow movie, you punish me … For a slap, they expel me … and they? And then? “

Álvaro soon responded to the accusations of racism by tweeting himself.

He uploaded a photo of himself with exclusively non-white colleagues and proclaimed that “there is no place for racism” and that “sometimes you have to learn to lose and take it to the field.”

But Neymar didn’t want any of that.

He soon responded, tweeting: “You are not a man to assume your mistake, losing is part of the sport. Now insulting and bringing racism into our lives, no, I don’t agree. I DO NOT RESPECT YOU! YOU HAVE NO CHARACTER! Assume what you say mermon … be a MAN QUICK! RACIST.”

Hopefully Ligue 1 will do a full investigation and if Álvaro is found guilty of racism, they will punish him harshly.

There is no place for racism in football.

It never was, never is and never will be.
