The Mumbai Zonal Unit of the Bureau of Narcotics Control has arrested six more people in connection with the drug nexus linked to the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Karamjeet Singh, Dwayne Fernandes, Sanket Patel, Ankush Arneja, Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari will appear in the Additional Metropolitan Chief Magistrate (ACMM) court via video conference.
This comes as the Republic Media Network reported Sunday afternoon that NCB is likely to make more arrests in connection with the drug nexus. NCB sources had revealed that the drug dealer named Dwayne was in direct contact with Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik Chakraborty. Dwayne supplied drugs to Showik’s house and Sushant helped Dipesh Sawant on multiple occasions.
Karamjeet, Showik’s school friend, is alleged to have supplied drugs through Sushant’s staff, Dipesh Sawant, and the house manager, Samuel Miranda, more than 10 times. Karamjeet was detained by the NCB on Saturday for allegedly supplying Showik with drugs.

Rhea is likely to move to Bombay High Court
It is highly likely that Rhea Chakraborty, the main defendant in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, will move to the Bombay High Court as her bail declaration was rejected by the Mumbai session court on Friday. Aside from Rhea, the bail statements of other people who were arrested in connection with the drug nexus, including her brother Showik, were also rejected and all those arrested have been housed in Byculla jail.
In addition to Rhea and Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant staff, alleged drug traffickers Zaid and Basit have also been arrested and are in Byculla jail after their statements of bond.
In her release on bail, Rhea had pleaded her innocence and stated that she was falsely implicated. Her lawyers maintained that the crime was liable to be subject to bail and alleged that no drugs or psychotropic substances were seized. The bond statement alleged that she was questioned from September 6 to 8 in the absence of any female agent or officer, calling it a violation of a Supreme Court directive. Lawyer Maneshinde has said that they will transfer to Bombay High Court after receiving the copy of the order rejecting the bail statement from the session court.
