NEET 2020 student reaction: Physics was ‘difficult’, biology was ‘complicated’ and COVID-19 made it worse
New Delhi:
Don’t ask Shraboni Chatterjee, “How was the NEET test today?” The “role was difficult” for her but she blames the situation caused by COVID-19. “I had to report at 11. I left the house at 4 am. I was exhausted before showing up for the exam, ”said Ms Chatterjee, who is from Malda, West Bengal. The NEET 2020 exam was held on Sunday, September 13. About 16 lakhs of candidates had registered to appear at more than 3,800 centers across the country. Many candidates who wrote NEET said the Physics paper was “difficult” and found Biology “complicated.”
Riddhi Mukherjee from Bardhaman had a similar experience, both to get to the center and for the exam itself. “I had to report at 12 noon. We stood in line outside the test center for an hour or so in this hot weather. There was no shade or seating arrangement. “Tired, she tried the paper and found that” physics was the hardest. “Ms. Mukherjee and her father left the center, exhausted.
Shreyanshi Battacharya from Kolkata said that “the question paper was moderate to difficult. The biology questions were complicated and long.” Nibedita Saha, also from Malda, had the same verdict: “The role was difficult. Physics is tough and biology is complicated and very difficult.”
Sunidhi Singh from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, found the role of the NEET question difficult. “The biology questions were simple, but complicated. The physics was long and difficult, “he said.
“The role was difficult. Physics hard and Biology complicated and extremely difficult.
NEET 2020: ‘Tired before the exam started’
As for the COVID-19 fixes and the experience of writing exams in the midst of a pandemic, the candidates had a difficult experience. “We all felt tired even before the exams started. Kolkata metro services resumed, but the frequency was horrible. I couldn’t afford to wait half an hour at the station. I got to the center on time, but I had to wait an hour to finish the crown test, ”said Ms. Saha.
Singh was assigned a NEET 2020 test center in Bareilly, more than 120 km from his home. “We had to leave the house early. I rode a scooty with my mother, ”he said. “She had to inform me at 11 in the morning.”
Here, too, test center staff tried to implement security measures, but the “crowd was not following directions,” he said. “The students were still queuing in front of the front door, but the parents were standing in a group and yelling, yelling and complaining about many things,” Ms. Singh said.
A group of parents even protested against the NTA taking the NEET 2020 test on test day. They were standing outside the test center in Bareilly and shouting slogans. “We are here because we couldn’t let our children suffer alone. We want the government to know that this is not right. You cannot endanger the lives of so many students, ”said one parent. “No matter how much you prepare to prevent overcrowding and the spread of the new coronavirus, it will stay and affect millions. Since our children couldn’t bear the idea of not showing up on the exam, we had to support their decision for their peace of mind. The Center should have considered the plight of thousands of students traveling from far away places before taking the exam. “
