NEW DELHI: The coronavirus vaccine could be ready by the first quarter of 2021, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday. “While a vaccine launch date has not been set, it may be ready for the first quarter of 2021,” he said. He added that he will be happy to take the first injection of the vaccine in case there is a confidence gap.
Harsh Vardhan also said that the government is considering emergency authorization of Covid-19 vaccination for the elderly and people working in high-risk settings.
