IPhone 12 Pro Leak Suggests LiDAR Camera Location; IPhone 12 models may not come with 120Hz displays

The iPhone 12 series has been subject to a multitude of leaks in recent weeks, from its specifications to production issues to live video of the phone. Latest on the growing list of leaks is a video showing the rear panel, without any internal hardware, of the iPhone 12 Pro with the new LiDAR sensor location. Also, another leak mentions that the iPhone 12 series went into mass production this week and unfortunately the rumored 120Hz refresh rate display didn’t make the cut.

Starting with the rear panel of the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, a short clip was used shared by an insider known by the pseudonym EverythingApplePro on Twitter, showing the location of the LiDAR sensor, flat sides, smart connector, and various cutouts. You can also see the space for the wireless charging coil. The design appears to be similar to what Apple did with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 which were more square in shape. The triple camera setup, as seen in the video, looks a lot like what was present on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The SIM card tray appears to have moved to the right side of the phone. This leak suggests that Apple will install the LiDAR sensor on both Pro models and not just the higher-end iPhone 12 Pro Max, as previous leaks had indicated. Although, a more recent leak mentioned that both Pro models will come with this feature.

Also, the well known tipster Jon Prosser shared that iPhone 12 models went into mass production this week and won’t come with a 120Hz refresh rate display as initially believed. This suggests that the models may come with 60Hz or possibly 90Hz refresh rate displays.

Additionally, iPhone 12 models are expected to come with wireless charging and a report from ITHome suggests that this will be the first generation of iPhones to come with strong magnets that move the phone into the optimal position for charging, when placed on the dock. loading. This will allow the phone to line up in the correct place on the wireless charging pad, ensuring that it is indeed charging.

In other news, Apple announced that it will host a ‘Time Flies’ event on September 15, where it is expected to present a budget Apple Watch, Apple Watch Series 6 and two iPad models.
