With just one day left for the National Cum Inrance Eligibility Test (NEET), scheduled for September 13, students should be busy with their last minute tips. Since the exam takes place in the midst of the pandemic, candidates should practice not only their academic knowledge, but also practice writing with gloves and a mask. Here are some tips for around 16 lakh NEET applicants on how to do their best during the exam.
Review and stay positive: The students had more time than usual to prepare this year. In case there is any doubt or negative thought in the minds of the students, they should replace it with positive thoughts immediately. Being anxious or nervous will only help them. Students should focus only on reviewing what they already know. A look at textbooks, charts, diagrams, etc. NCERT’s and study notes should suffice. They should refrain from delving into textbooks or getting into too much theory. The approach should be continuous through mock tests already resolved, analyzing the errors and improving the weak areas.

Replicate a real exam scenario: While practicing for the exam at home, students should try to replicate a real exam scenario, as it can be of great help in addressing their exam-related anxieties. They must find an isolated space and time on their own and try to solve a mock trial. While doing so, students must also wear masks and gloves. This will help your body clock get used to the test. Wearing a mask and gloves and keeping a hand sanitizer on the table will help replicate the test scenario.
Before starting the actual exam: NEET is a race against time, but students must also focus very critically on the OMR sheet. Students must first complete their credentials carefully and correctly. They should not rush and be patient while circling the bubbles. The bubbles should not be too dark to tear off the sheet, nor should they be so light that the machine does not pick up the answer. To ensure that the OMR sheet is filled out correctly, students should first mark their answers only on the question paper. The ideal time to mark your answers on the OMR sheet is after completing a section. It is not advisable to leave it until last, as there may not be enough time and students can do it in a hurry, which can lead to errors. In order to smoothly complete the OMR sheet on the exam, it is always best to practice it in advance during the preparation time.

During the exam, be selective: Mastering the number questions is all about practice. When practicing, it is important to understand the application of concepts. In case students are having difficulty solving numerical questions in physics, they should focus on strengthening their biology and chemistry. Students must be selective in their approach and focus on topics with maximum weight. Even if they are strong in physics, starting the exam with biology or chemistry will boost their confidence, as they are relatively easy. Difficult issues must be dealt with later.

What should parents do: When it comes to the future of students, parents are often very concerned. However, they should not expect too much from their child nor should they discuss their apprehensions regarding their child’s performance, as it will only produce negative energy. This negative energy can seriously affect a child’s performance. Instead, you should always motivate your child to do better and only say positive things. They must have faith in their abilities and refrain from giving too much advice. A supportive attitude will help your child stay positive and perform at their best without any pressure.
