The Maharashtra government on Friday asked Mumbai police to investigate the drug use allegations against Kangana Ranaut, while the actress turned her attention to the Speaker of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, to tell her that she must intervene and stop the harassment of women.

Mumbai: A special court here on Friday rejected the bail statements of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, arrested by the NCB in connection with a drug-related case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. PTI

City police received a communication from the state Interior Department to investigate allegations that Kangana used prohibited drugs, a senior law enforcement official said. The crime branch would investigate the matter, he added.

Maharashtra Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh said on Tuesday that Mumbai police would investigate allegations made by actor Adhyayan Suman, son of actor Shekhar Suman, that Ranaut used drugs. Ranaut is embroiled in a public dispute with Shiv Sena, who heads the ruling coalition in the state, after her statement comparing Mumbai to “PoK” irritated the ruling party in the state. – PTI
