Kangana Ranaut to face Maharashtra government-ordered drug investigation

Actress Kangana Ranaut will face a drug investigation ordered by the Maharashtra government in the latest twist of her dispute with the ruler Shiv Sena. The investigation began two days after civic officials partially demolished her Mumbai office for alleged illegal tampering.
Mumbai police launched an investigation after receiving a letter from the state Department of the Interior today ordering an investigation into Kangana Ranaut’s drug ties based on an old actor interview.
State Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh had told the assembly that allegations of drug use by the “Queen” actor would be investigated based on comments from actor Adhyayan Suman.
In a 2016 interview, Adhyayan Suman, who allegedly dated Kangana Ranaut once, alleged that she asked him to use drugs at a party in 2008.
Adhyayan Suman has declined to comment on the investigation based on his comments. Stating that he didn’t want to be dragged into “toxicity,” he tweeted: “Please don’t put my name on this! I was ridiculed in 2016 for speaking on these media channels and now I’m sorry. Nothing to say!”
Kangana Ranaut has accused Shiv Sena, who heads the Maharashtra government and controls the Mumbai civic body, of attacking her in a war of words over the Sushant Singh Rajput case. She had criticized the Mumbai police handling of the case and said she did not feel safe in the city. The dispute peaked when she compared Mumbai to Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK), enraging Shiv Sena.
On Wednesday, a demolition squad began carrying out what it called illegal alterations to her office in Mumbai ‘s Pali Hills while she was on a flight to the city. The Bombay High Court ordered the civic agency to halt the demolition.
On the same day Kangana Ranaut lashed out at Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in a video addressing him as “you“(an informal version of you).
“Uddhav Thackeray, tujhe kya lagta hai? (What do you think?) That you collaborated with the film mafia, demolished my house and they took revenge on me? My house was demolished today, your arrogance will collapse tomorrow ”, the frank actor had said.
Kangana Ranaut has been one of the supporters of an investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14 and his possible links to what she calls toxic rivalries, harassment and nepotism in Bollywood. Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, has been arrested on charges of buying drugs from her.
