The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA of Uttar Pradesh, Nand Kishore Gurjar, has written to the Minister of the Interior, Amit Shah, requesting that he upgrade the security of actor Kangna Ranaut to Z plus and remove the Prime Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, to the coalition government led by allegedly ‘illegally’ demolishing Ranaut’s office in Mumbai.

Claiming that there was a serious threat to the actor’s life, the BJP MLA of the Loni assembly segment of the Ghaziabad district alleged that Ranaut’s office was demolished by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on the instructions of the Mafia Don Dawood Ibrahim. However, the MLA did not confirm his claim.
“The BMC has not bothered to investigate various illegal properties, but has acted against Ranaut,” he said in his letter, which also demands the arrest of Maharashtra CM in addition to the removal of the coalition government led by Thackeray.
“I have also received threatening calls from Pakistan and various Islamic countries since I raised my voice against the broadcast of a web series. There is a need to order an investigation by the NIA into the link that the Maharashtra government has with the underworld, ”Gurjar said in his letter, which also referred to Uddhav Thackeray as a ‘fictitious’ prime minister.

The BJP MLA letter highlights the political division over Kangana Ranaut’s public statements, including the one comparing Mumbai to Pakistani-occupied Kashmir, which has pitted Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and the Maharasthra Congress against him. Coalition partners in state government Maha Vikas Aghadi have alleged that the BJP is using Kangana as a proxy to smear the Mumbai police.
The BMC had demolished Kangana Ranaut’s office in a posh Bandra town on the grounds that it violated the sanctioned plan. Ranaut has accused BMC of carrying out a vendetta at the behest of the state government. The Bombay High Court is also hearing Ranaut’s statement against BMC in the matter.
